Verde Hasta La Muerte

We are excited to collaborate with our favorite Austin FC supporters group Los Verdes, to announce a new blend we are calling ‘Verde Hasta La Muerte‘ which means “Green Until Death.”

Fútbol y comunidad are important to us here at Haciendo Coffee Roasters, and we love how Los Verdes is creating that culture in Austin! They are passionate about being a supporters group that creates the most exciting, inclusive, and respectful atmosphere for all—on match day and beyond.

As part of this collab, both Haciendo and Los Verdes wanted to make sure that some money from this goes to a cause we all believe in so we chose Food 4 Farmers, an organization that helps coffee-farming families and their communities access locally grown nutritious food, every day. We are giving $5 from every bag sold to them!

FOOD 4 FARMERS

Food 4 Farmers partners with coffee-farming communities in Latin America to cultivate a food-secure future. Their co-op partners and the thousands of coffee-farming families they represent are working to put good, healthy food on their tables every day.

In 2010, people from the specialty coffee industry, academic researchers, and organizations working to alleviate hunger came together to strategize about how to help coffee-growing communities overcome food insecurity and build sustainable livelihoods.

From these conversations came Food 4 Farmers, an NGO helping coffee-growing communities fill the gap between their income from coffee and the income required for a decent quality of life.

We began our work in 2011, using the commitment of the coffee industry, collaborations with international development organizations, and co-op partners dedicated to sustainable agriculture, local food systems, and new economic opportunities for those left behind, to build lasting, community-appropriate solutions to food insecurity.
