Description
Our new coffee, The Flamingo, is from Solai, Kenya. This coffee is produced by the Kuria family.
Solai is a town in Nakuru County, Kenya. It is located about 12 miles from the county capital, Nakuru, and has a population of about 35,000. It has an elevation of about 6200 ft. above sea level, making it suitable for Tea, Coffee, and horticulture farming. This farming community is vibrant, and people carry bright smiles wherever they go. The Kuria family has been farming coffee for almost 4 decades as one of the pioneer small-scale farms in the location.
In Solai, there is a lake—Lake Solai. Every day a flock of about 3,000 flamingos fly in from another lake called Baringo, to feed off the lake and fly back in the evening. It is quite a beautiful scene!
Important: We currently roast on Mondays & Tuesdays. This means if you submit your order on Wednesday, your coffee will not be ready for pickup or shipping until the Wednesday after roast day. Please plan accordingly. We will contact you when your order is ready.
